Cagayan de Oro City (herein after referred as CDO) is also known as “The City of Golden Friendship”. It is also the capital city of Misamis Oriental. Water rafting in Cagayan river is the famous tourist attraction in the city.
Camiguin is the second smallest province in the Philippines. It is dubbed as the “Island born of fire” because of the seven volcanoes that lies in the area. It is known for its white sand beach and the historic Sunken cemetery.
Our 5D/5N Northern Mindanao exploration happened on February 2015. Northern Mindanao or designated as Region X is consisting of five provinces: Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Camiguin. It is the 8th of the most populous region in the Philippines and second in Mindanao. Without further ado, let me share with you, our itinerary and actual expenses during our trip. Iligan is also known as the “City of Majestic Waterfalls” because of more than 20 waterfalls situated in the city. The popular ones are the Tinago and Maria Cristina falls. My travel buddies and I decided to spend the day in Iligan City. We visited the popular Tinago and Maria Cristina falls. But if you’re into chasing waterfalls, you may opt to stay additional day or more.
Apart from Cagayan de Oro’s white water rafting, we learned that the neighboring province of Bukidnon also offers some adventures and becoming popular among adventure-seeker. That’s why we included it on our bucket list.
